I mean it was perfect! From the weather to the timing, everything was set for the most memorable engagement. We would be there for 7 days so he had more than enough time to get on one knee but it didn't happen.

We scheduled early morning flights so when we landed in Hawaii it would still be in the AM. The flights are long from the east coast so we opted for first class. Now don't get me wrong, if I'm taking a quick flight I'm all about coach however when the flights are over 4 hours (which is my max coach time) I always opt for the upgrade. Quick tip for getting the cheapest fare: fly on the off days like Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. There will be less people on your flight, cheaper fares, and better seat options. The first class seats were clutch especially for my husband who is 6'2" 260. He had been to Hawaii before so he knew that coach for him was definitely not an option. The flight was about 9 hours and we slept almost the entire time.

Once we landed in Hawaii it was like another world. Ok that's a slight exaggeration however it was completely different from North Carolina. It was cold in Charlotte (it was February) and we were desperate for some warm weather. It was absolutely perfect conditions. The welcome committee is fantastic and instantly make you feel right at home. We rested our heads at the Moana Surfrider a Westin Resort on Waikiki Beach. The hotel was fantastic and had direct access to the beach.

Our trip was full of adventure, well adventure for me. From ATV rides to a traditional luau it was full of the Hawaiian spirit. The ATV rides definitely had me living on the edge literally. I had been on an ATV tour before while I was in Cabo, Mexico however I had never driven one myself. I'm not as comfortable driving because I'm not the most coordinated person but I didn't have a choice this time. The trail was beautiful but a little risky. We spent two hours dodging the local greenery, livestock and wild animals. At one point we were on the cliff of a mountain that I was certain that I would topple off. Although it is was a little scary, it was well worth it. A memory that I will never forget.

The traditional luau is a must do if it is your first time in Hawaii. The food and entertainment are amazing. There are several different options so research the most appealing one for you.

The best thing about Hawaii was the pace. There is a no pressure, slow down and enjoy the moment type of energy that you simply can't get away from. The majority of our time was spent just enjoying the island life. We tried local restaurants and even ventured to try a little beach volleyball.

During your stay you must try the Hawaiian pineapple and the beef ribs! The pineapple is the best pineapple that I have ever had. As for the beef ribs you can taste the freshness. Most of the food is grown and raised on the island which is why I'm still dreaming about the food. Oh and don't forget about the real Hawaiian bread that is purple and the pancake the size of your head from Mac 24-7.

Although there was no engagement I still had one of the best times of my life. I love Hawaii and I can't wait to go back!

Forever Fierce Fabulous & Flawless

Tenisha

What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas

https://www.fiercefabulousflawless.com/travel--leisure/what-happens-in-vegas-stays-in-vegas

https://www.fiercefabulousflawless.com/travel--leisure/what-happens-in-vegas-stays-in-vegas#comments

Uncategorized

We have all heard the saying "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" but I've decided to break the oath and give you a sneak peak into my Las Vegas escapades. Las Vegas is one of favorite places and not for the obvious reasons. From the food to the day parties, Vegas has lived up to everything I expected it to be. The Sin City has seen me six times in the last four years and I'm already planning my next trip.

Of course there's the casinos and the over abundance of alcohol but honestly that's not why I love Vegas. If you have never been to Vegas or looking for things to do on your next trip, here's a few of my favorite things and quick tips on how to survive!

Great Eats! I love food and there's nothing like eating something that sends you into complete euphoria. To say that I have had some amazing food in Vegas is an understatement. Brunch: Just an FYI, no one eats breakfast while in Vegas, not because there aren't any great places but because if you are doing it right you won't be up in time. The brunch is great especially at my favorite spot Serendipity. Serendipity is located on the Strip and is directly in front of Caesar's Palace. I always have the French toast log. It's topped with fresh berries and delicious maple syrup. Dinner: I am a huge fan of Asian food, and anytime I make a restaurant recommendation it's most likely going to have an Asian flare. It's a popular nightclub but the food is delicious too! Tao Las Vegas located in the Venetian Resort has a extensive Pan-Asian menu. As an added bonus, when you dine you get complimentary admission to the nightclub. Buffet: Enjoying a buffet at least one time is a must. The best buffet that I have had is at the Bellagio. Tons of variety and short lines make it a great spot on the last day of your stay. Dessert: I have a sweet tooth and the Sugar Factory has exactly what I'm looking for. From old school candy to gelato, it's a perfect place to relive your favorite childhood memories. Remember, Vegas is a city of excess so be careful when you are placing your order.

Where to Stay! On my first trip to Vegas, I made the mistake of not staying on the Strip. Most of the time you will be walking everywhere so I highly recommend picking a hotel that has easy access to everything. Taxis are abundant however you can't catch a cab on the street. If you need a cab you have to go to the nearest hotel. Remember it's hot, you're in the desert, and there's no need to give yourself a heat stroke trying to get to the action. I've stayed in the Monte Carlo (not a good choice because of the location), the Bellagio (great location and the epitome of traditional Vegas life), Planet Hollywood (cost effective and close to everything), Aria (modern-contemporary style and just a sexy hotel), and Cosmopolitan (my favorite hotel because of the great views, modern style and overall vibe).

Shopping! Unfortunately, I'm not a huge shopper but there's ton of shopping in the city. When I'm visiting I always take a trip to the mall in Caesar's Palace. From designer brands to your signature go-to spots, this mall has a little bit of everything.

Things to Do! Going to at least one show is a must. The Cirque de Soleil shows are absolutely amazing and worth the cost. It may not be New York or Los Angeles, but there's tremendous talent in the city. An exciting and fun activity for large girl groups is the pole dancing class at the Pole Dance Studio. The instructor is actually the creator of pole dance classes and trust me she's awesome. No need to be shy! She takes her time and helps you find your inner sexy. Although I have visited several times I'm still finding things to do. Hence why I keep going back.

Partying! Partying is not just a nighttime affair. Day pool parties are just as popular as the nightclub events. The Palms hotel has a great pool party that is usually filled with celebrity sightings. The nightlife never stops. The majority of the clubs cater to the signature techno music scene but there are some that have different genres on special days of the week. Quick tip for the ladies: find a club connect or sign up for the VIP list for the clubs. Promoters get paid based on how many girls that come to the club who are listed on their VIP list. Don't worry about paying for a table. Negotiate for tables based on how many girlfriends you have joining you on your trip.

How to Survive! 1. Don't fall victim to the nap! If you are traveling from the east coast, you will be tempted to conquer Vegas as soon as you arrive and you will be tricked by the time change. My suggestion, don't take a nap. Naps on day one usually end up lasting well into the night and before you know it you have slept through dinner and part of the nightlife. 2. Stay hydrated! Make sure you drink as much water as possible especially if you are traveling in the summer months. You're in the desert which means the air is very dry which makes staying hydrated a must. 3. Don't drink too much during the day! I've seen several friends tap out after a day of exploration and drinking. The combination of the heat plus the alcohol completely wiped them out and they never made it out at night. 4. Remember it's Vegas! You can rest when you get home. Don't take a trip and then stay in your hotel room all day. 5. Enjoy yourself! No one is judging you and I'm sure they want the same courtesy. Let loose and have a great time!

Forever Fierce Fabulous & Flawless!

Tenisha
